Aatrox (B to B+ tier)
Ekko (B to B+ tier)

This jump is due to stabilization from 9.13, plain and simple. In that patch, a few sites rated him very low – or not at all – which drove down his rating. Now, sites are ranking Ekko higher than they were last patch, and they’re being more consistent about it, so likely those few outliers from last patch are gone.

Taliyah (B to B+ tier)

Taliyah mid has been one of the strongest picks in the mid lane for quite a few patches now. Her win rate has continued to rise in 9.14 and now sits at 53.3%, which is top-five in mid. She’s also not too shabby to take into popular mids like Qiyana, Diana, and Talon.

Anivia (C to B+ tier)

Once again, win rate and pick rate are unchanged after Patch 9.14, but there is one decent explanation for Anivia rising up: she does absolutely fantastic into the Rift’s newest member, Qiyana.

Cassiopeia (D to B+ tier)
Sylas (C to B tier)
Annie (D to B tier)

At first, I thought that LS bribed the tier list-makers to rank Annie higher, since she hasn’t gotten any direct buffs recently. However, her win rate jumped from 24th in Patch 9.13 to 4th in Patch 9.14, now sitting at a comfortable 54.1% with a slight increase to her pick rate as well.

Aurelion Sol (F to B tier)
Irelia (D to C tier)

Although she has the second-worst win rate of all mid laners (46.1%), Irelia took a nice rise in the mid rankings. It’s probably just because the tier lists slightly overreacted to the nerfs she got recently, as her win rate hasn’t really dropped in response (it’s been around 46-47% for several patches now).

Akali (D to C tier)
Ryze (D to C tier)
Syndra (D to C tier)

Syndra’s win rate has actually been climbing steadily since Patch 9.11. Starting at one of the worst at 47.5%, she now sits at a comfortable 49.9% so I’d be willing to bet she will be rated even higher (probably B tier) next patch.

Azir (D to C tier)

The Emperor of Shurima actually saw a hefty decrease to his win rate (over 1.3% down to 46.6%). However, this could also be due to the fact that his pick rate has been climbing as well (over 1%$ increase since Patch 9.11) and not because he’s actually becoming weaker in the meta. The tier lists certainly seem to be leaning that way.

Karthus (F to D tier)

Another rebalancing rank change, as he was probably rated a bit too harshly in 9.13. He rebounds and returns to D tier where he was in the previous patch.

Falling Champions

Talon (S to A+ tier)

Talon’s drop has absolutely nothing to do with him getting weaker, but rather that another champion got buffed and surpassed him (in this case, Katarina). He’s just below the S tier border and still has the 50.9% win rate he had in 9.13.

Yasuo (A to B tier)

He dropped in our top lane tier list as well, but Yasuo in mid is actually a slighter stronger pick (he has a 48.1% win rate in mid versus 47.9% in top). That said, he’s most-picked mid laner in Platinum and above.

Orianna (B+ to B tier)

Although Orianna‘s win rate didn’t change from the last patch, she struggles mightily into rising picks like Rumble and Aurelion Sol. She was only rated an A tier pick by a single source in Patch 9.14.
