League of Legends Patch 9.14 tier list – support edition
By Josh Tyler
Nerfed champions
Lux
Riot removed the double shield on her W – Prismatic Barrier and shifted the power (along with the damage on her Q – Light Binding and R – Final Spark) to be more reliant on AP scaling than getting reduced cooldowns. However, it’s not entirely a funeral for Lux support. Although her win rate plummeted from 54% to 47.8% in one patch, she’s still in our A tier.
Tahm Kench
The Kench got a lot of nerfs to the most frustrating aspects of his kit: the CC chaining on his passive An Acquired Taste and Q – Tongue Lash. He also got some nice nerfs/tweaks to his W – Devour/Regurgitate and the heal on his E – Thick Skin.
Although his win rate in support fell by over 1% to 47.7%, these changes seem to have, improbably, made him considered stronger in the role. He’s risen from F tier, where he was for the last two patches, to now being right back in the D tier.
Yuumi
The nerfs to Riot were quite hefty, including nerfs to her passive Bop ‘n’ Block (reducing the base shield and removing the mana restore) and reducing the base damage of her Q – Prowling Projectile. She did get some compensatory buffs to her W – Zoomies!, but her win rate still dropped from 48% to 47% along with her pick rate dropping by over 1.5% as well. However, the net result is still that she’s considered a strong pick, moving up to her highest ranking ever in our A tier.
Neeko
Finally, this wasn’t really where the nerfs to Neeko were targetted (Riot was pretty specific that they were attempting to curb her dominant presence in top lane), but Neeko support also got affected by the nerfs to her base stats and the bonus move speed on her W – Shapesplitter did…well nothing. She’s still a niche support champion with a 1.1% pick rate but her win actually improved from 47.8% to 48.5% in this patch, and she rose in our tier list out of the F tier to the D tier.
