Falling Champions

Twitch (A to B+ tier)
Kog’Maw (C to D tier)

Observations

Twitch only took a slight drop in our tier list appears to be a stabilization drop at first glance. However, looking at his numbers, Twitch actually saw a win rate drop in Patch 9.17, from 52% down to 50.7%. It’s unclear what’s causing that drop other than perhaps him starting to feel the Biscuit Delivery nerfs of Patch 9.16 a bit more acutely.

On the other hand, Kog’Maw‘s ranking in the bot lane plummeted in Patch 9.17, going from a mid-C tier pick to the middle of the D tier. His win rate did drop as well (51% to 50.1%) in this patch and maybe he’s feeling a the Biscuit nerfs in a bigger way. In any case, Kog’Maw should fall off your pick priority unless you’re a skilled one-trick.

Buffed champions

Kalista

She received some base stat buffs in Patch 9.17, yet Kalista remains at the bottom of our tier list as the worst conventional ADC in the meta (Swain does currently trail her as the sole mage ADC). This is in spite of the fact that her win rate in solo queue has been steadily climbing over the past five patches and is currently just below 48.8%. Despite those optimistic signs, she is not yet deemed strong enough to be worth picking even after the latest buffs.

This change is quite frustrating for Kalista players (surprisingly, of which there are steadily about 1-2% of ADCs) as this will be her third-straight patch of being an F tier pick. She’s been a below-average ADC for all of Season 9, save for two patches (9.2 and 9.3) where she was barely a B tier pick. Given this continued state of poor performance over such a long period of time (during which she received buffs in two patches) you have to wonder if Riot needs to consider some heavier buffs or mechanic changes to her kit.

Lucian

Lucian also got some (lighter) base stat adjustments in 9.17 than Kalista, yet he actually seems to be benefitting more. His previously-stable win rate jumped from 48.6% to now 50% following the buffs. As a result, this fringe ADC pick is at least a decent pick in solo queue, sitting in the B+ tier.
