2016 MSI: Top 15 plays from the group stage
By Andrew Ross
The 2016 MSI has been an action-packed tournament with tons of great moments already, and we’ve only gone through the group stage so far.
People are dying for more international League of Legends events, and the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) has shown why that’s such a popular demand. Having regional leagues is nice and brings a lot of action throughout the year, but nothing comes close to the competition of having the best from those regions come together for an international event.
MSI was in the group stage period over the course of five days where it was a double round-robin and a total of 30 games were played between Royal Never Give Up (RNG), Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), Flash Wolves (FW), SK Telecom T1 (SKT), G2 Esports (G2) and SuperMassive eSports (SUP).
30 games is a hell of a lot of League, and there were tons of great moments and plays during that time. Some of the plays came in the clutch, some showed off massive amounts of skill, some were purely lucky and some were simply funny.
While there are only three series left for the event (two semifinals and then the final), they should bring a plethora of games that will provide many great moments of their own. So, before we enter the next stage of MSI, let’s take a look back on everything the group stage had to offer with the top 15 plays.
