2016 NA LCS Summer Split Week 1 Power Rankings
By Andrew Ross
8.) Apex
Apex is the final team new to the NA LCS, but unlike the teams previously mentioned, Apex got here the old fashion way: through the Challenger Series and promotion tournament.
Apex enter the Summer Split boasting a 10-man roster that is filled with veterans like Lae-young “Keane” Jang in the mid lane and Alex “Xpecial” Chu at support. Hell, they even have Danil “Diamondprox” Reshetnikov chilling on their bench.
Eighth has to be the worst this team could do, but they have the potential to surprise a lot of people and slide into the middle of the playoff teams.
It will be fun watching them progress throughout the split.
7.) Echo Fox
This will be Echo Fox’s second split, and they were really intriguing in the spring.
They look like one of those classic teams that are good enough to stomp the bottom of the ladder while not being good enough to take down the top teams – and taking down the better competition is what they will have to do to make the playoffs.
Henrik “Froggen” Hensen and Yuri “Keith” Jew are great carries that anyone would love to have on their team, but they will need much better performances from their other three members if they are to make any real noise.
The one big thing they have going for them is team synergy. They didn’t make any roster changes in between splits and even practiced in Korea like a lot of the North American teams did.
