5. Illaoi buffs

Want to hear something crazy? Illaoi has been out for seven months already. Yeah, time flies.

While this was a nerf-heavy patch, Illaoi was one of the few champions that actually got some love – and she sure needed it. According to Champion.gg, Illaoi had a dreadful 45.69 percent win rate while only being played 2.18 percent of the time in patch 6.10. Only five champions had a lower win rate in the top lane.

The Kraken Priestess has never been that effective during her time on Summoner’s Rift, and Riot has given her a few buffs and changes recently to try and help her out.

The previous changes to her E have helped her out a lot, but so will the buffs from the latest patch. Illaoi’s Q has been changed so that her tentacle damage is increased by 10/15/20/25/30 percent, and her W now does damage based on the target’s maximum health.

Illaoi is one of the juggernauts of the game, and these buffs made that more true than ever since she will easily be able to build very tanky while still dishing out a lot of damage.

It would be nice if the latest buffs are enough to make her a strong viable option across all levels of play, but that remains to be seen. Her biggest issue has always been drastically falling off late-game, and that’s still going to happen.
