4. Ekko nerfs

Raise your hand if you’re sick of Ekko. Oh, everyone? Nice.

The Boy Who Shattered Time has been an annoying fixation in League of Legends for way too long now. He is one of the brainless tanks that run around Summoner’s Rift doing whatever they want, and those are the type of champions that aren’t good for the game at all.

Ekko has received a massive amount of attention from Riot lately, but the changes done to him still haven’t solved anything. In patch 6.10, the beautiful full tank Ekko in the top lane had a 52.79 percent win rate (sixth-highest for top laners) while still being played 9.5 percent of the time (third-highest for top laners). On top of all that, Ekko was banned in 63.27 percent of games. The only champions with a higher ban rate were Zed and Malzahar.

It was clear that Ekko needed more done to him after looking at those numbers, and maybe the latest set of nerfs will finally knock him off the top lane throne.

The first thing done to him in 6.11 was increasing his passive cooldown on the same target from three seconds to five seconds. Ekko’s passive simply gives him too much extra power as a tank, and increasing the cooldown a bit should make it a bit better.

The next nerf was to his Q’s return damage as it has been decreased from 60/85/110/135/160 to 40/65/90/115/140.

His W was also nerfed as the stun duration has been decreased from 2.25 seconds to 1.75 seconds.

Finally, the damage from his ultimate has been decreased from 200/350/500 to 150/300/450.

Ekko’s ability power ratios were slightly increased for people that want to play him as a mage in the mid lane, but all of these nerfs are the clear takeaway from 6.11.

Hopefully, this fixes the Ekko problem, because it would be scary to see what kind of nerfs he would get next if he continues being a powerhouse.
