4. Cloud9 (1-1)

Cloud9 have the potential to be extremely good, and they actually looked better than expected for the opening week.

The team went through numerous roster changes in between splits and that involved swapping out their leader and shotcaller Hai “Hai” Du Lam. When the team tried that previously a year ago, things absolutely burned to hell and Cloud9 played like some random Platinum players that wanted to see what it would be like making a ranked team.

Clearly, Cloud9 learned from their previous mistake and did things differently this time around, because (for the most part) the team played clear and concise.

They also had one of the tougher Week 1 schedules as they had to battle Immortals and Echo Fox.

Cloud9 fell to Immortals 2-1, but they put up a really good fight and showed that they can compete with one of the very best the NA LCS has to offer. That had to of been a big deal for their confidence.

Echo Fox didn’t make the playoffs in the last split, but many people expect them to this summer as they could be a strong team. Cloud9 dropped the first game of the series in what was a really close contest, but they rebounded well and easily won the next two games.

It’s obvious this squad is still sorting some things out with their team (like the game they are playing at support), and it will be nice to see what they can do against CLG on Sunday.
