8. Team Liquid

Surprise, surprise: Team Liquid is a much better team with Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett in the starting lineup instead of Galen “Moon” Holgate.

Don’t get it twisted, they still didn’t look good, but at least they showed glimpses of being a playoff team.

The series against Counter Logic Gaming is definitely one that they could have walked away from victorious, but they showed how fragile of a team they are and crumbled at the first real punch Counter Logic Gaming threw at them.

Liquid was lucky enough to get their first win of the split against Echo Fox, but that was a classic clown fiesta more than anything else. It didn’t feel like any team won, but more so that Liquid sucked a little bit less.

Liquid still have high hopes for their split, but a lot of changes have to be made before they can even think about being a playoff team. No one is playing particularly well for Liquid right now, but Kim “Fenix” Jae-hun and Matt “Matt” Elento need to pick it up more than anyone else. Those two players have been incredibly disappointing.

Luckily, for Liquid, Week 3 should be fairly easy for them as they face off against Phoenix1 and NRG Esports. They should be very grateful to have such a good week before heading into Week 4, because that’s when they battle both Apex and Immortals.
