4. Team Envy

Envy is tied with TSM for the top record in the region right now, but we have to put that in perspective.

The team has played better than anyone expected them to, but their wins have come against NRG Esports, Team Liquid, Apex and Phoenix1.

The only solid win out of that bunch is against Apex, and even that might not be a big of a deal once we look back on it at the end of the split. NRG Esports and Team Liquid were absolutely atrocious when they faced off against Envy, so it’s hard to take much away from those wins. And Phoenix1 is Phoenix1.

However, that’s not to say that they don’t look good, because they do. They are essentially an improved version of Renegades from the Spring Split, and they appear to be a lock for the playoffs. The question is how high is their ceiling?

Their Korean trio of Shin “Seraph” Wu-Yeong, Kim “Procxin” Seyoung and Noh “Ninja” Geon-woo has aleady proven to be a huge strength for Envy as the three play as a unit extrodinarily well.

Benjamin “LOD” deMunck is also playing out of his mind right now. The young ADC has an insane 10.1 KDA, 75.8 kill participation percentage and is doing 25.2 percent of his team’s damage. Who saw that coming?

This upcoming week will let us know if they are the real deal or not as they face off against Immortals and Counter Logic Gaming. Hoepfully, they don’t let us down.
