4. Champion mastery available on all maps

Riot can take a long time to do things (Soon TM), but champion mastery is finally available on all maps: Summoner’s Rift, Howling Abyss and Twisted Treeling.

It’s kind of crazy to think that it took this long for it to happen, but the positive way to look at this is to think better late than never.

ARAM has a hardcore fanbase of players that only play League of Legends for the fun game mode, and it’s nice to know that they are finally getting some love.

Champion mastery in ARAM will also mean a lot more than champion mastery on Summoner’s Rift. Think about it, you get to choose what champion you play on the Rift, so you can easily spam a champion just for the mastery if you’d like. However, that’s not possible in ARAM because the champion you play is random. When you see someone flash their champion mastery in ARAM, it will be easy to respect the grind (and luck) it took to get that.

The other cool thing about finally having champion mastery everywhere in the game is that players will be able to earn hextech crafting chests whenever playing ARAM or Twisted Treeline. Getting awesome stuff for free is amazing, and it’s nice that players won’t be forced to play a specific game mode in order to get them.

The only downside to all of this is that champion mastery will only go to level five in ARAM and Twisted Treeline. That could change down the road, but everyone should be happy with getting this far right now.
