2016 NA LCS Summer Split: Week 4 power rankings
By Andrew Ross
6. Team Liquid
It was an interesting week for Team Liquid as they subbed out star ADC Gwang-jin “Piglet” Chae for their Challenger Series ADC Jovani “fabbbyyy” Guillen.
The team acted like it was to give Piglet a break while giving fabbbyyy some LCS experience, but the latter is still listed as their starting ADC for Week 4. Liquid could simply be slow to update their starting roster, but if things stay this way, that would be a huge deal.
Liquid had an easy schedule with fabbbyyy last weekend, but this week consists of games against Apex and Immortals. If fabbbyyy plays against Immortals, we should start to realize that this team is moving on from Piglet — as crazy as that sounds.
It might be for the best, but it seems very risky at the moment.
For what it’s worth, last week was their best week of the split. They actually looked like a decent team.
5. Counter Logic Gaming
The sky isn’t falling in the CLG world, but it’s definitely a worrying time.
It’s easy to go around and point fingers at individual players, but honestly, they have so many issues right now that a single player can’t be singled out for all of their problems.
This is a team that should be able to fix things rather quickly, but if they can’t, some changes might have to be made.
They open Week 4 with a monster series against Immortals, and they absolutely have to be competitive in it. It’s not a problem for them to lose the series, but they cannot get dominated.
Next: 4. Team Envy, 3. Cloud9
