6. Counter Logic Gaming

We’ve tried to stay calm with Counter Logic Gaming for the entirety of the summer, but that’s starting to become impossible.

The NA LCS is entering Week 6 of the regular season and CLG has yet to take down anyone of importance. Yes, they have a win against Team Liquid, but that came in the second week of the split when Liquid was still getting their crap together. It wasn’t an impressive win.

Losing to the top teams wouldn’t be too alarming if CLG was at least competitive, but that’s not the case either.

Everyone tried to hype up the second meeting of CLG vs. TSM this summer, but it was ultimately a very boring series thanks to TSM running CLG off of Summoner’s Rift.

Luckily, CLG has an easier schedule this week with games against Team Envy and Phoenix1, and they desperately need to come out 2-0 in order to start gaining some momentum.

Taking down Envy shouldn’t be that big of a deal to anyone, but it would at least be a start for CLG.

5. Team Envy

Team Envy took advantage of an easy schedule to start the Summer Split which put a lot of attention their way, but they were never the team people were trying to make them out to be.

Are the bad? No. Are they elite? No. Are they above average? Yes.

Ultimately, this is a solid playoff team that will sometimes be able to contest with the stronger teams in the region. However, thinking they could be one of the three best teams in the NA LCS should be put to bed forever.

They face off against Immortals and Counter Logic Gaming this weekend, and it shouldn’t be a surprise to see them come out 0-2.
