2016 NA LCS power rankings for Week 7 of the Summer Split
By Andrew Ross
10. Echo Fox
Echo Fox’s season has been spiraling out of control right before our eyes, and it was only a matter of time until they overtook the last spot in the power rankings.
It’s nearly impossible to believe that their only win of the summer came in the opening week against Phoenix1, but that’s the reality of their situation. So much for all the hype they had coming into the summer.
It’s one thing to not be able to take down the good teams in North America, but Echo Fox hasn’t even been able to beat the other two bottom teams in the last couple of weeks. That’s the worst possible place any team could be in.
Rick Fox’s team clearly has no shot at making the playoffs, but they should still be doing everything in their power to win games so they can avoid the promotion tournament.
As things are right now, this team would probably lose their spot in the NA LCS if they had to fight for it.
9. Phoenix1
Last week’s win against Apex was not a fluke — Phoenix1 is turning things around.
Their roster is finally sound and it looks pretty decent, and it was good enough to give them a win against Echo Fox. Who would have thought Phoenix1 would have back-to-back weeks with wins?
The great news for them is that they have a fantastic opportunity to keep that streak alive with their Friday night match against NRG Esports.
Phoenix1 needs to do everything possible to win that series because after that, their remaining series are against Team Liquid, TSM, Cloud9, Team Envy and Immortals. That’s a tough stretch for any team in the region.
Next: 8. NRG Esports, 7. Apex
