4. Galio gets nerfed to calm his META value

Galio saw some major momentum when he got his rework just a short time ago. Needless to say, he was quite the popular pick among Summoners since he brought so much to the table. He basically was a tank that dished out so much damage, it felt as if he was overpowered.

To combat this in Patch Update 7.7, Galio’s passive ability “Colossal Smash” was nerfed in damage. It went from 15-100 (at levels 1-18) down to 12-80 (at levels 1-18). They also bumped up his ability power usage in “Winds of War” to scale better with his damage output.

Already in the Summoner’s Rift, Galio continues to be a solid option that’s incredibly versatile in almost every role. So far, the META has Galio’s most success in the top lane as per Champion.gg. He’s won a little over 39 percent of matches in that role.

Galio is an excellent tanking champion that when properly geared can hold his own in the Field of Justice. This nerf will balance things out in the long run as he becomes a new favorite among Summoners.
