SLG goes national with Amateur Intracity Competition
Super League Gaming has officially gone national as they’re kicking off their new League of Legends tournament with even more cities being represented.
On Friday, July 21st, 2017, Super League Gaming is officially kicking off their Season 2 online qualifiers event to begin the process of crowing City Champs. Last season, the Chicago Force defeated the Dallas Dynamite as it was a great League of Legends tournament enjoyed by many.
This time around, SLG plans to have an even bigger tournament. They have officially launched their Season 2 online qualifiers event which will earn Summoners one of 60 spots open on their city team’s roster.
Season 2 will now have 12 cities nationwide competing as anyone can enter the tournament, even if you’re not a professional Esports player. All you need is an online qualifier ticket which costs just $5 USD and a Level 30 North American League of Legends account. If you make the final cut, will be able to represent your city to the fullest. Take a look at the entire process below:
After you have your qualifier ticket, you will then compete in the tier based on your League of Legends ranking. You’d then need to play six or more qualifier games within 5 hours each day in your respective role as the top Summoners in each tier will make the final team.
Below are the dates for all four qualifier events:
- Friday, July 21, 2017
- Saturday, July 22, 2017
- Sunday, July 23, 2017
- Monday, July 24, 2017
The actual city vs. city events after teams have been finalized will start on Monday, July 31st, 2017. It’ll continue on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 and again on Monday, August 7th, 2017. The semifinals will be on Wednesday, August 8th, 2017 with the grand finals being on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017.
Of course with any tournament, the name of the game is winning and earning some pretty sweet prizes. Take a look below at all the incredible prizes that await:
- 1st Place: City Champs trophy/ jacket, a Triumphant Ryze skin, 5,800 RP per player
- 2nd Place: 3,600 RP per player
- 3rd Place: 2,700 RP per player
- 4th Place: 1,700 RP per player
