Five topics we want in the Marvel comics about League of Legends lore

Demacia and the Lightshield line

We’ve seen a lot of stories about the war between Demacia and Noxus. A lot of these have been told through the generals that we have come to identify with and play in the game like Garen, Swain, Darius, Xin Zhao, Katarina, and Jarvan IV.

While we have heard some mention of Jarvan’s father, King Jarvan Lightshield III, it would be cool to get more backstory about how the Lightshield line came to power in Demacia. The King in Demacia is meant to be chosen by a high counsel but somehow the last three have all been chosen from the Lightshield lineage. Is there some sinister secret behind the start of the Lightshield dynasty? Or is it simply that the Lighshields are the true “Exemplars of Demacia”?

And who came before the Lightshields? Surely the lineage of kings in Demacia doesn’t only go back three generations. At least, from the lore, it would appear to be far longer. A chance to delve deeper into how this shift in power took place would be fascinating, in a sort of Game of Thrones-type political thriller.

There is also the possibility that this story could look at the history of the wars between Noxus and Demacia, and the role the Lightshields played. It could also look at the role of the Crownguard – currently Garen – and how that came to be. Plenty of battles galore in this topic to be sure.
