Items

Forbidden Idol line

"Forbidden Idol COOLDOWN REDUCTION5% ⇒ 10% Ardent Censer HEAL AND SHIELD POWER8% ⇒ 10% Mikael’s Crucible HEAL AND SHIELD POWER15% ⇒ 20% Redemption HEAL AND SHIELD POWER8% ⇒ 10%"

The extra CDR on Forbidden Idol doesn’t really make it much more attractive as an early pickup, especially when enchanters who build it earlier will be gated by limited mana regen. The extra shield and healing powers do help the completed items become more valuable, but it might give other lanes a bit of PTSD remembering the horror of the Ardent Censer meta.

Tiamat

"COST: 1200 gold ⇒ 1325 gold UPGRADES: Ravenous Hydra and Titanic Hydra cost 125 less gold to upgrade; total costs unchanged"

This might be the most controversial change of Patch 8.24(b). Nerfing Tiamat’s base cost will definitely make it less appealing of an early buy, but this seems heavy-handed.

For comparison, this item now costs more than a BF sword despite giving 15 less damage. The active wave clear will have to be very valuable for a champion to want to buy this early.

Zeke’s Convergence

"CONDUIT: Your linked ally’s basic attacks burn enemies for 50% ⇒ 30% bonus magic damage over 2 seconds."

It’s surprising that Zeke’s is getting a nerf, given Riot’s acknowledgment that ADCs are in a weaker state. A better nerf to hit the power might be to reduce the survivability it gives to supports, instead of robbing the AD Carries from some needed damage.

Turrets

"Turret plating’s done its job of extending lane phase for cases where teams burn down turrets as quickly as possible. In less violent lanes, though, outer turrets fall too easily once plating falls off. They’ll now keep the baseline resistances they have at game start, with plating falloff only removing the extra resistances granted by broken plates. ARMOR AND MAGIC RESIST AFTER PLATING FALLOFF: 0 ⇒ 40"

A lot of people have noticed that turrets fall very easily after the plating drops. After Patch 8.24(b) drops, the outer turrets won’t fall over to a stiff gust of wind once the clock hits 14:01.
