Victory 5 is the other new organisation in the LPL, they are owned by Mario Ho who is the son of a Macau casino mogul. The roster they’ve formed is capable but not astounding.

Jinoo was formerly the top laner of LGD who have been nothing more than a bottom tier team in recent years. He himself is a very good top laner and the roster around him is better than he’s had previously so maybe he can be the star player this team needs.

Pepper was one of WE’s junglers last season. He did seem to have more success than Condi when he played but it certainly wasn’t the most inspiring gameplay. He’ll do fine for V5 but I don’t expect him to be a standout player. Ben4 played for former LPL team I May for a year but he has been inactive since then. It’s interesting to see him resurface but I don’t imagine he’ll be picked over Pepper often unless he’s improved significantly in the past year.

Corn is a veteran of the LPL who is now entering his fifth year in China’s top league. He’ll bring a veteran voice to the team which can be useful but he’s in the waning years of his career and we likely won’t see a huge jump in skill from him this split. Another capable player who won’t set the world on fire.

Y4 was a long time substitute player for RNG before he joined LGD last season. He played very well for LGD considering the circumstances, he and Jinoo were the best players on that lineup so V5 scouted well. Accompanying him in bot lane are Ley and Road. Ley was a sporadic member of the RNG squad once upon a time but he’s been quiet in the competitive scene recently. Their starter will most likely be Road who has arrived from Bilibili Gaming. Road was impressive last season which makes me very excited for the Y4 and Road bot lane combination.

They will most likely lose their week one matchup against TOP who has assembled a strong roster this year. Despite this, as the LPL continues they should get the best of some of the weaker opposition but I certainly don’t expect them to be a playoff caliber team come the end of the split, though they won’t be bottom feeders either.
