#7 – FunPlus Phoenix

Roster:

🇰🇷 Kim “GimGoon” Han-saem (Top)
🇨🇳 Gao “Tian” Tian-Liang (Jungle)
🇨🇳 Chang “Xinyi” Ping (Jungle)
🇰🇷 Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang (Middle)
🇨🇳 Lin “Lwx” Wei-Xiang (ADC)
🇨🇳 Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song (Support)

Week 1 Games:
vs Rogue Warriors (14th of January) (Shanghai)
vs Snake Esports (20th of January) (Chongqing)

FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) are capable of taking a lower playoff seed just as they did in Summer. FPX has held onto most of the roster that allowed them to have a breakout Summer split. In addition to that, they have added some upgrades to help them push on for more glory this time around.

GimGoon was an adequate top laner last split. He was rarely the reason his team lost and always contributed to their victories. I would say he is exactly where belongs on FPX, a top laner for a team that should scrape playoffs.

Likewise for Xinyi who was one of their junglers last split as well. He’s a fine player who won’t make spectacular plays but will always put in a good shift for his team during the game and it looks like FPX will be starting him this time around.. Tian was a substitute jungler for Suning last season, having a young hungry player underneath your starter is almost never a bad idea and that’s why FPX have picked up Tian.

Doinb has joined FPX from Rogue Warriors. He is an upgrade over the veteran Cool who served FPX admirably last season. Doinb himself is a veteran but he still maintains a lot of his form to this day. He was part of a very successful RW roster and his play was a big part of their success. If he can keep that form up, he’ll turn out to be a very good buy from FPX.

Lwx and Crisp continue to operate as the bottom lane of FunPlus Phoenix. They held their own against all but the very best bottom lanes last season so keeping the pair together was good business as they are familiar with one another and the rest of the team.

FPX have the same core players and they’ve upgraded their mid lane so they’ll be hoping to keep their playoff spot this Spring split. They can get off to a great start in Shanghai by defeating Snake and RW who are much weaker this split than they have been previously. It should be a 2-0 week for FPX to kick things off.
