While the new generation teams still look nigh-unstoppable when compared with the veteran teams, all is not lost for old-time fans. This week’s games showed that rookie teams are not as well-versed in the macro strategy department and in longer 30-40 minute games, more often than not, they will struggle to close out games and allow windows for experienced teams to get back into the game. This weakness proved fatal for Damwon Gaming in their match against SKT and also Jin Air against Gen.G.

It was also great to see veteran teams stray away from traditional team compositions and game play, with Afreeca even playing Spirit mid and bot, and SKT never being afraid to lane swap throughout a game. We should look forward to the upcoming matches, where these different team dynamics and innovative strategies will surely clash in explosive and fun games to watch!
