“Oh joy, Lucian #1 in the tier list again,” you’re probably saying. “All those buffs to crit items, they did nothing!”

Not so fast. See in the Patch 9.2 tier list, Lucian was the highest rated champion at 1.270. The second-highest rated champion in that patch, Vayne, only had an aggregated score of 0.758.

In the Patch 9.3 tier list, however, Lucian’s score has dropped slightly, to 1.265. However, now both Vayne and Sivir have higher rankings than Vayne did in Patch 9.2. Vayne has a score of 0.988, and Sivir’s is 0.805.

Slowly, but surely, the gap between Lucian and every other ADC is closing. Critically (pun intended) those hyper-carry ADCs who benefited from the ADC item reworks, such as Sivir, Jinx, Twitch, Ashe, and Caitlyn, all rose in their rankings.

Unsurprisingly, the champions that were hurt the most from these changes were the melee and mage bot laners like Heimerdinger, Yasuo, and Ziggs. The days of the “protect the ADC” meta are soon returning, it looks like.
