B tier

8. Kim “Life” Jeong-min (Gen.G)

Life’s stat’s don’t immediately jump out as abysmal, with a KDA over 2 and kill participation right around 75%. However, Life has the most deaths of any LCK support and is tied for the worst vision score per minute with Jin Air’s Kellin. Putting down the third-fewest wards per minute of any starting support is not going to help a team that is constantly behind in the early game and needs vision.

7. Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong (SK Telecom)

Shocking, I know, but Mata has not been performing up to his usual standards so far in the 2019 Spring Split. A lot of that is due to his underwhelming vision score per minute (barely ahead of Life’s), paltry damage contributions, and second-fewest assists of any LCK support.

He also holds the distinction of being one of two supports who has a negative gold differential at the 15-minute mark, while his ADC has a positive differential. The other, Jin Air’s Kellin (and Nova) who are both far in the negative while poor Route has the second best GD at 20 among ADCs.

6. No “SnowFlower” Hoi-jong (KT Rolster)

SnowFlower isn’t playing badly, but he is, unfortunately, incredibly average. He’s middle of the pack in KDA stats, gold, vision, and damage, SnowFlower isn’t in the top or bottom three of any statistic other than deaths. He has the third-most deaths of any LCK support.

A tier

5. Cho “Joker” Jae-eup (SANDBOX)

If this surprising team has any weakness, it’s in their bottom lane, as Joker has one of the worst KDA’s and the worst kill participation of any starting LCK support. Yes, he is one of the best supports in the LCK at warding, but it looks like he and his partner Ghost are getting carried by solo laners Dove and Summit.

4. Ryu “Hoit” Ho-seong (DAMWON)

Here, though, we have the best support in the LCK when it comes to vision, with his impressive 2.99 vision score per minute, boosted by his 1.65 wards placed per minute and 0.54 wards cleared per minute – the best in the LCK. Most impressive, though is his 4.4 KDA, which is second-best in the league. On a team that has a below .500 record, having such an impressive KDA and low death participation is extremely impressive.

Don’t let the low gold numbers fool you, Hoit has been one of the biggest bright spots for DAMWON this year. Can’t wait to see if he can climb higher in the LCK support tier list next split.

3. Kim “key” Han-gi (Hanwha Life Esports)

Similar to Hoit, Key has been one of the lone bright spots for Hanwha. Having the highest percent of the team’s gold (15.3%) while not being incredibly high on the support gold per minute charts tells the story of a man who has had to pick up an inordinate amount of slack for the rest of his faltering team. It makes sense, given that his bot lane partner, Sangyoon, is by our calculations the worst starting ADC in the LCK.
