Most Difficult Match-ups for KarasMai’s Kayn

Likely having the most games on Kayn in the world, KarasMai provided his list for the most difficult matches for Kayn. To make it easy, any high mobility jungler is a difficult matchup for Kayn because Kayn relies on landing Blade’s Reach (W) to land the rest of his combo.

1. Graves is an extremely powerful jungler, and Quick Draw (E) hard counters Kayn in several ways. First, it’s easy for him to dodge Kayn’s Blade’s Reach (W). Second, the armor that Graves gains mitigates almost all of Kayn’s early game damage. Third, Graves can easily receive Kayn is susceptible to being invaded. Also, Graves’ Smokescreen (W) makes it impossible for Kayn to cast his Umbral Trespass (R). Also, the critical strike item buffs have made Graves hit harder than ever.
2. Another champion that benefited from the critical strike item buffs, Kindred has three major advantages over Kayn. First, Kindred’s Dance of Arrows (Q) allows her to complete several tumbles in multiple directions in a short amount of time. This makes it extremely difficult for Kayn to land any of his skill shots. Seconds, Kindred’s passive, Mark of the Kindred, incentives her to invade Kayn and abuse her 1v1 advantages against him. Finally, at level 6, Kindred’s ultimate, Lamb’s Respite (R), simply prevents her or her team from being destroyed by a Shadow Assasin flank, or from Rhaast doing his immense damage.
3. Kha’Zix has several elements that make him dangerous for Kayn. First, Kha’Zix’s passive, Unseen Threat, makes him dangerous in the early game against Kayn because not many wards are placed to give vision of Kha’Zix. Also, Kha’Zix isolation damage on Taste Their Fear (Q) and Void Spike (W) simply out damages Kayn early game. Also, on every objective at every stage of the game, Kha’Zix Taste Their Fear (Q) and Smite will out damage Kayn. Finally, Kha’Zix’s Void Assault (R) makes him difficult for Kayn to beat even when both are at level 6. Kha’Zix is just stronger than Kayn at every stage of the game.

While his Kayn is well known in NA Challenger, KarasMai is far from one trick. When his Kayn is banned out, Karisma uses Kha’Zix, Vi, Graves, Pantheon, Hecarim, Xin Zhao, and Lee Sin to dominate on the rift.
