League of Legends: grading all the skins released in March
By Josh Tyler
Arclight Brand
This is a completely transformative skin. It takes Brand from a shambling, flame-ghoul into a full-on supervillain. He looks menacing both in the champion image and in-game, and the animations are clean as all heck.
I love having the flaming, artsy blooms under his W animation, the little singe explosions on his passive, and the call-down of the E. All of the animations keep the theme of Brand being the fire mage, but just make them so much more elegant and clean.
Grade: A
KDA Ahri Prestige
This one, on the other hand, just feels like a chroma for the base skin. All the animations look largely the same, save for a few new ones or tweaks. Much like the champion panel, it’s not so much an upgraded skin as it is a change.
Grade: C-
Blackthorn Morgana chromas
Very much a lot of “meh” for me. None of these really give Morgana’s skin that much pop or intrigue. Maybe the orange one and blue on the top row might be worth a buy if you like those brighter colors.
Grade: C-
Viridian Kayle chromas
All of these chromas are actually pretty nice looking. They give me kind of a fairy/pixie vibe and each of them looks like it’s very unique. Definitely worth a buy if you’re a Kayle main (or abusing new Kayle).
Grade: A-
Arclight Brand chromas
These are some really dope changes, especially the blue, green, and purple ones. I don’t think they’re necessary to buy since the base skin is so cool, but if you’re a Brand fan they’re probably worth a look at least.
Grade: B
