The Targaryens & Esos = Shurima

Probably less so than the other regions, the characters from Game of Thrones across the Narrow Sea don’t quite line up with their regional counterpart in Runeterra. However, Shurima is the land of the vast wasteland desert. That’s pretty much Shurima.

Daenerys Targaryen = Shyvana

I mean, this is just too on the nose to pass up. The Mother of Dragons played by the half-dragon? That’s just a slam-dunk in terms of casting.

Not only is the dragon theme perfectly on point, but Dany and Shyvana also share the same sense of honor, pride, and unpredictability. There’s also the whole “coming to a strange land” characteristic that both ladies share. But yeah, it’s mostly the dragon.

Viserys Targaryen = Trundle

Trundle is the Troll King. Viserys trolled everyone in season one by insisting that he was the rightful king of Westeros.

Jorah Mormont = Yasuo

If we’re talking about “Unforgiven” characters in Game of Thrones, no one stands out more than Jorah Mormont. The man betrayed his Khaleesi and was forced to fight and beg his way back into her good graces. He may also be as adept with a sword as Yasuo is, though I doubt he can play the flute quite as well.

Khal Drogo = Renekton

A giant, hulking barbarian who rules over the desert, you could liken Shurima and Dothrak very easily. Drogo was a fierce warrior, just as Renekton is. Or was, before the sands took his life and stripped him of his sanity.

They’re almost heading in two different directions. Khal started off as a war-mongering king who was calmed by his Khaleesi. On the other hand, Renekton was an esteemed warrior of Shurima who has become a terror and butcher of those lands.

Greyworm = Pantheon

The man who was chosen by the Celestials to become the “Aspect of War,” Pantheon may want to be a baker but his destiny is to be a warrior. Similarly, Greyworm may have wanted a different path from his life (like being able to hook up with girls), but unfortunately, that option was taken away long ago. Now, he is left to be the ultimate fighter, just as Pantheon is.

Missandei = Nasus

A very odd choice, to be sure, but League of Legends really doesn’t have a translator-type champion in the game. It’s also overlooked that Nasus was considered to be a brilliant scholar before the sands of Shurima claimed his humanity (he is the Curator of the Sands after all).

Similarly, many people overlook Missandei’s intelligence on Game of Thrones, often to their detriment. She’s proven to be more than capable and has shown extensive knowledge of politics and the world around her.

Daario Naharis = Twisted Fate

Twisted Fate is a sell-sword, a gambler, and a charmer, just like Daario. I mean, no, we’ve never seen Daario playing cards, but he did gamble with Greyworm to ride with Khaleesi at the front of her caravan. I doubt TF could land a Khaleesi like Daario did, though.
