Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen

Jeff: Stud

Zven has been on an absolute tear this year being a rock for TSM even when other areas of the map seem to be collapsing. With the help of his laning partner Andy “Smoothie” Ta, Zven has been able to pick up a lot of 2v2 kills in lane.

Zven has also had a wide champion pool this year and has been able to adapt to what strategy TSM is drafting for. TSM’s bot lane is going to shock people this weekend and matchup well against TL’s bot lane. Zven and Smoothie have been on fire lately and while I think TL’s bot lane has better players, Zven and Smoothie is going to come out swinging and have a bigger impact on the series.

Josh: Stud

Zven’s clearly been dealing with something of a burden over the last year, feeling the weight of being on the worst TSM team in history. After winning the semifinal series against Cloud9, you could see the relief and joy in Zven’s eyes.

Of all the players in the LCS who stand a chance to stack up against Liquid’s all-pro ADC Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, Zven is the one I’d pick. I think they’re at a disadvantage because Doublelift and support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in are the best bot lane in the LCS, but I don’t think they’ll get absolutely stomped.

Even if Team SoloMid don’t take the victory on Saturday, you can bet your house that Zven will put on a stellar performance. His dominance in the bottom lane, alongside support Smoothie, has been the only consistently strong area for TSM so far this season.

The final will be a challenge for him, no doubt – taking on Doublelift and CoreJJ is no easy feat. But I don’t think I’m alone in believing he will relish that challenge and want to once again prove himself in front of a global audience. His diverse champion pool and ability to win any 2v2 would be perfect for any team, and it’s certainly something TSM will want to take full advantage of this weekend.
