League of Legends: How every LCS team can upgrade their roster
By Josh Tyler
10. 100 Thieves
Out: Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black
In: Zeyzal/David “Diamond” Bérubé
It is impossible to overstate just how bad Aphromoo’s 2019 Spring Split was. When it comes to the two most important statistics for evaluating a support – deaths and vision – Aphro was fourth-worst in deaths and dead last in vision. He averaged a gold deficit coming out of lane with a former World Champion as his ADC and was responsible for over a quarter of his team’s death in games where he participated.
There have been a lot of rumors going around about Aphro being unmotivated, past his prime, or unhappy with 100 Thieves. Regardless of what is causing the downswing, something needs to change for 100 Thieves, and Aphro is a good place to start.
To replace him, 100 Thieves should look either at the possible former C9 support, Zeyzal, who struggled last split but has shown himself to be a very strong support over his career. Another option would be to poach perhaps the best support from the C9 Academy team in support Diamond.
Diamond has been tearing it up in academy, posting the best KDA in the league and fewest deaths. The only concern, however, is that Bang might not want to start over with a very green support, and might insist on them keeping Aphromoo. Doing so, unfortunately, probably means 100 Thieves will only get worse before they get better.
