Buffed champions

Amumu

There was a lot of talk that the Sad Mummy might make a big move after the buffs to his Passive and Q – Bandage toss, but those don’t appear to have come through yet. Amumu remains in our B tier with most sites actually leaving him in the C tier.

Camille

The buffs to her attack speed were more focused on top lane, but when you’re at the bottom of the pack anything that can improve your clear speed or dueling can help. Camille has risen in our rankings, but she’s still stuck in the D tier for now.

Kayn

The effect of buffing one of Kayn’s forms is always an interesting proposition because Shadow Assassin will only be used in a certain number of cases unless it’s clearly the stronger form in almost all cases. Kayn actually dipped a bit in this tier list, but it will be interesting to see if this buff makes him picked more into squishier comps.

Master Yi

A constant stomper of soloQ – especially in lower elos – I was expecting for the buff to his R – Highlander to give the Wuju Bladesman a slight bump in our tier list. That’s exactly what he got, with most sites ranking him in that A tier.

Sejuani

Discussed above, as Sejuani took a big leap forward in our jungle tier list. I think this is more about her core item, Cinderhulk, having its buff actually go live, but I’m sure the targeted buffs at her helped.

Trundle

Similar story to Sejuani, as we discussed above. The continued buffs to his kit help, but so do the Cinderhulk buffs. Speaking of which…

Cinderhulk users

We noted in the last patch that Cinderhulk junglers generally didn’t get stronger as a result of the Cinderhulk buffs. Well, it turns that that’s because the tooltip got changed, but the actual buff never went through. Now that it’s actually live, let’s take another look at how those users we evaluated did this patch compared to last.

  • Rammus = – 0.051
  • Nunu & Willump = + 0.083
  • Amumu = – 0.148
  • Sejuani = + 0.776
  • Zac = + 0.010
  • Volibear = – 0.483
  • Poppy = + 0.114

So slightly better picture than we painted with these buffs last patch. Some tanks did get stronger, despite not getting touched (Nunu, Zac, and Poppy). It is a bit concerning that Volibear and Rammus dropped, but overall I think tanks are in a better spot. In the last patch there were no tanks in our top ten junglers, now there is one (Nunu & Willump).

Also, let’s not forget that Bramble Vest and Thornmail both got buffs in this patch, likely helping tank junglers out as well. The fact that Rammus didn’t rise with those buffs is actually quite puzzling, but we’ll have to see how that shakes out into next patch.
