Recasting the Marvel Cinematic Universe with League of Legends champions

Peter Quill / Starlord = Ekko

The thing to remember about Peter Quill is that he’s basically a kid out of his element, relying on his wit and technology to overpower his opponents rather than raw power. Ekko, the kid from the streets of Zaun who uses his time-manipulating technology to get the advantage in fights, is definitely getting along with Starlord.

Gamora = Vi

Now here’s where the Vi comparison really shines, because Gamora is the ruthless, only out for herself bounty hunter at the beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy. First, she’s working for Thanos, then she’s double-crossing him to help free herself, then she’s doing the right thing to save the galaxy by teaming up to fight alongside the other Guardians. That sure seems to follow the arc of a former criminal turned warden of the peace with a penchant for smacking fools around.

Drax the Destroyer = Dr. Mundo

As opposed to the Hulk, Drax is a more apt comparison to Mundo, in my opinion. Drax doesn’t really have anything special about him other than the fact that he’s freakishly strong, tough, and dumb. Does that describe anyone else you know? Put a cleaver in his hand and paint him a shade of purple and you can’t tell those two apart.

Rocket Raccoon = Kled

An ornery, vermin-looking critter that relies on gadgets and his own wits to kill enemies, with a weird obsession with stealing other people’s body parts, and who outwardly hates everyone around him. Tell me how Rocket is not Kled?

Groot = Maokai

Let’s not overthink this one people. Groot’s a tree, Maokai‘s a tree. The end.
