Buffed champions

Aatrox

We discussed this above, but those changes/buffs have enabled Aatrox to become a jungler again. Not a viable jungler, but he’s at least showing up on our tier list now.

Shaco

These quality of life buffs the Demon Jester got to his W – Jack in the Box bumped him up slightly. Not noticeable, but still there.

Volibear

We talked about it above, but it just goes to show how misguided Riot was to nerf Voli’s attack speed all those patches ago. A core issue of his – beyond his kit just being too linear – was having too slow a clear speed to compare to meta junglers. Now, at least, he can stay relevant.

Nerfed champions

Hecarim

The nerfs to Hecarim‘s Q – Rampage and E – Devastating Charge hurt Hecarim. But it was a pinprick, not crippling. He’s still solidly in the S tier.

Jarvan IV

Now on this one, I was wrong. I didn’t think the nerfs to his W – Golden Aegis would knock him down that much. However, the other tiny nerfs to his base stats seem to have built up to knock Jarvan almost out of the S tier.

Kindred

This was a nerf to her first passive mark spawn, as Scuttle Crab is now spawning later into the game. She dropped a hair but is still a stable A pick.

Rek’Sai

We discussed the myriad of nerfs Rek’Sai received in Patch 9.9 numerous times including in this article. She took a massive nosedive in our ranking, showing the nerfs did their jobs properly.
