One-trick ranks overall
Before we get to looking at one-tricks for individual champions, let’s get an overall look at whether one-tricking a champion is effective and, if so, how much. Looking at the data we can make a few definitive statements about one-tricking in general.
First, the average rank of a one-trick is somewhere around Platinum 4, which is certainly nothing to sneeze at. This would put you in the top 15% of all players in your region.
Second, it’s important to note that every single champion in the game has one one-trick that has reached at least Platinum. Only nine out of the 143 champions in the game (not including the newly-released Yuumi) do not have one single one-trick in Diamond. There are also 22 champions whose one-tricks are in Challenger (again, this is Worldwide, so these are likely spread across the major regions).
Those champions with one-tricks that are challenger are:
- Nunu & Willump
- Azir
- Lee Sin
- Graves
- Elise
- Renekton
- Nasus
- Ivern
- Kassadin
- Anivia
- Jarvan IV
- Darius
- Ezreal
- Lux
- Talon
- Sion
- Vi
- Jax
- Syndra
- Twitch
- Urgot
- Kayn
Third, though, it is important to notice that there are more champions (14) that have at least one one-trick that is in Iron than there are champions that have at least one of their one-tricks in Platinum. Of those champions that have at least one of their top ten players in terms of ranked games played still in Iron, none have a one-trick in Challenger. Two champions (Kayle and Aurelion Sol) have both a one-trick of theirs in Iron and Grandmaster, though.
Fourth, there are only 29 champions in the game that have none of their top ten one-tricks in Silver or lower. Only five champions have none of their one-tricks below Platinum. Those five are Skarner, Orianna, Nunu & Willump, Jarvan IV, and Darius.
