League of Legends: top 5 Things to Know About the Mordekaiser Rework
By Joseph Silva
3. Yuumi can’t help you during Mordekaiser’s ult
It’s an oft-asked question, but we finally have an answer from Mordekaiser playtester and number-one fanboy, Malicious Metal – Yuumi cannot help you in the Realm of Death. Once Morde targets you, the Magical Cat will get kicked out and leave you alone against the Iron Revenant. Sorry Yuumi – your book can only do so much.
4. Play keep-away during Morde’s ult
Realm of Death is a terrifying ability to be targeted by – it forces you into a 1v1 with Mordekaiser, and then stacks the deck in his favor by stealing some of your core stats. Even if you could beat Morde outside of Realm of Death, you won’t automatically win against Morde once you’re trapped.
However, there is still hope. Since the ult only lasts for 7 seconds, all you really have to do is wait out the duration – and since you have plenty of room to maneuver in the Death Realm, it shouldn’t be too hard to stay away from the Iron Revenant. Make use of any terrain that got sucked in with you, and try to avoid Mordekaiser’s E if you can, as his relative immobility will let you run away until you return to reality.
1. Mordekaiser is still a juggernaut
This is a very obvious statement to make, but it bears relevance here due to how many Mordekaisers we’re about to see when he hits live. While it might take some time to learn what his new abilities do, at the very least we can remember that he’s a juggernaut – high damage and durability, but super-low mobility.
Morde’s only way to start a fight – his E – is on a relatively high cooldown, and he can’t get his passive started until he lands three consecutive attacks or abilities. Keep Morde at range, or avoid taking the third hit in order to really reduce his potency.
