5. Damwon Gaming (5-6)

From the ashes, Damwon has risen! Last week, this team was dead last in our ranking, outperformed statistically by Jin Air of all teams.

Week 2, however, Damwon got their groove back, going 4-2 and claiming two series victories. Now you can quibble over whether they should have even needed three games to finish off Jin Air, but this team is on the right path once again.

4. Kingzone DragonX (7-3)

On the other hand, the mighty Kingzone fell from the top spot last week to fourth after a middling 3-3 week. They did manage to beat SK Telecom (although even last week that was hardly cause for celebration) but lost to Afreeca Freecs.

Given how well they performed in Week 1, and how underwhelming Afreeca performed, I expected Kingzone to dominate that series. Losing the series knocks Kingzone back.

3. Afreeca (7-4)

On the other hand, by beating Kingzone Afreeca launched themselves up the ladder overtop the previous kings. This teams only losses have come against Griffin (twice), SKT, and Kingzone. That’s three-quarters of their losses coming against top-four teams.

2. Sandbox Gaming (6-3)

There’s an obvious argument to be made that Sandbox deserves the number one spot: they beat Griffin. I don’t deny that logic, however, there are a few factors weighing against them.

First, Sandbox’s only other losses (and series loss) came against Kingzone. Griffin’s came against the superior Afreeca (a series they won).

Second, statistically, Griffin has dominated Sandbox in literally every category except for vision control. Sandbox may have been better than them on that day, but Griffin has been better over the year.

1. Griffin (7-3)

Their only losses have come at the hands of teams in the top three of LCK. They average a 1,300g lead at 15 minutes and have a 1.55 kill-to-death ratio as a team. They close games out in 30 minutes on average, they control objectives by an overwhelming amount.

This is, statistically, the best team in LCK by a laughably huge margin. And they have been, by all accounts, struggling. God help the league if they ever snap out of this funk.
