Buffed champions
Illaoi
She got some pretty hefty buffs to her Passive – Prophet of an Elder God, W – Harsh Lesson, E – Test of Spirit, and R – Leap of Faith, all of which allowed her to spam tentacles and duel her enemies much more easily. As discussed above, all of this brought her up heftily in our tier list, all the way to A tier.
Ornn
Despite the buff to the AD ratio on his Q – Volcanic Rupture, Ornn continues to struggle in the D tier of top lane. Back to sleep then.
Sylas
He got some buffs back to compensate for all the yo-yo-ing of nerfs he was given recently. Riot says that he needs long-term attention, which is quite true, but for now, the buffs at least brought his win rate up even if he’s in the lowest tier of all top laners.
Randuin’s Omen users
As we do with every patch where an item is buffed, here’s a look at all the champions that buy this in their most frequent core builds (per LeagueOfGraphs) and how their rating has shifted in Patch 9.13:
- Darius: + 0.106
- Garen: + 0.004
- Gnar: – 0.391
- Malphite: -0.302
- Maokai: -0.214
- Poppy: -0.366
- Shen: -0.489
- Sion: -0.617
Rod of Ages users
And here is the same analysis for RoA’s most frequent buyers in the top lane.
- Cho’Gath: -0.037
- Ryze: +0.301
Nerfed champions
Karma
Not meant to be a top laner, the move speed nerf to her E – Inspire was definitely aimed at her support power. But it pulled her back a bit in top lane, showing just how strong she those buffs were.
Pyke
We’ll put this on here despite him not making an appearance, but the nerfs – particularly to his Q – Bone Skewer damage and E – Phantom Undertow’s damage – appear to have annihilated top lane Pyke. I’m sure no one will mourn his loss.
