18. Rabadon’s Deathcap
What it does: 50% bonus AP on spell damage
Recipe: Needlessly Large Rod + Needlessly Large Rod
Works well on: Sorcerers, Elementalists
Reason for rank: This is the first of the “nice but so what” items. It gives stats, lots of good stats that certain champions will want. But beyond just being a ball of stats, it’s not that special.
17. Bloodthirster
What it does: Gain lifesteal equal to 50% of damage dealt by basic attacks
Recipe: B.F. Sword + Negatron Cloak
Works well on: Rangers
Reason for rank: Similar to Hextech Gunblade, but better. Even though you’ll only get the passive whenever you auto (as opposed to autos and abilities), the passive lifesteal is doubled, meaning your abilities would have to be doing an insane amount of damage to make the lifesteal equal out. That said, lifesteal isn’t a terribly great stat in Teamfight Tactics, and B.F. Sword has much better upgrades.
16. Infinity Edge
What it does: Critical strikes deal bonus 100% damage.
Recipe: B.F. Sword + B.F. Sword
Works well on: Assassin, Exile, Ranger
Reason for rank: This item synergizes very well with champions that can get a lot of damage out but, surprisingly, doesn’t do that great with Rangers because the only real way to boost your crit strike chance is through underwhelming items. Yes, if this hits it’s going to hit like a truck, but how often will it hit?
