5. Afreeca Freecs (14-11)

A really good week for Afreeca, who dispatched with Jin Air easily as expected, but continued to hand Griffin their worst week of the split. A special shoutout must be given to ADC Aiming in this series, who went a combined 6/0/13 in Afreeca Freecs two wins.

4. Kingzone DragonX (16-10)

It was difficult to rank Kingzone above Afreeca and Gen.G, given those other two had such incredible upsets over the LCK’s number one team in Week 5. However, there was enough of a gap between Kingzone and those two teams in Week 4 that even their two upsets and Kingzone requiring three games to take down KT Rolster didn’t bring them down.

3. Damwon Gaming (16-10)

A little more chaos at the top of the standings, because you would think that Damwon’s 2-0 series win over Sandbox Gaming would vault them overtop their opponent into second place. However, Damwon’s loss to Kingzone kept them right between those two teams despite the fact they lost the series they were expected to win and vice versa.

2. Sandbox Gaming (16-7)

Similarly, despite going 2-2 in Week 5 (losing to Damwon and beating Jin Air) Sandbox remains in the number two slot in our rankings. Once again, this was largely due to Sandbox having a big enough lead on Damwon last week that, although the gap has closed, their spot remains safe.

1. Griffin (16-7)

Finally, despite going 1-4 in Week 5, Griffin was so far ahead of the rest of the pack that they maintain their top spot. That said, though, they took a massive tumble and are now just barely rated above the also-falling Sandbox.

Already, there are starting to be the rumblings as to whether we’re seeing another late-season slump for Griffin. Facing Damwon and KT Rolster, Griffin needs to start showing that they are a new team in the Summer Split, or their lead will evaporate further.
