Support

1. Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in (Team Liquid)
2. Vincent “Biofrost” Wang (CLG)

There was also a lot of discussion on The Dive as to who fits behind the CoreLift (or DoubleJJ) duo of Team Liquid for the second-best ADC and support duo in the LCS. To me, in aggregate, the second-best NA bot lane is Biofrost and Stixxay, with me giving a lot of the credit to Bio.

To start, Biofrost dies far less than all other supports (he averages 1.8 deaths per game) and has one of the highest vision scores per minute (2.33). Something that is incredibly underrated, however, is that Biofrost does a ton of damage.

To be specific, Biofrost does 225 raw DPM (the next-closest support is huhi, who averages 213 DPM in four games, no other support does more than 200 DPM). But he’s also doing 11.8% of his team’s damage, also the highest of all supports.

3. Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidam (Cloud9)
4. Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent (Echo Fox)
5. Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung (Golden Guardians)
6. Choi Jae-hyun (Golden Guardians)
7. Kim “Wadid” Bae-in (FlyQuest)
8. Terry “BIG” Chuong (OpTic Gaming)
9. Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme (Clutch Gaming)
10. Andy “Smoothie” Ta (TSM)

On the other hand, there was a lot of agreement that Smoothie should be one of the top three supports in the LCS, which I vehemently disagree with. Smoothie does average the second-most assists per game (his 9.2 assists per game trail only CoreJJ‘s 9.6) and his aKP is above average (103.7%). However, he is the second-worst support in terms of the most important stat when it comes to supports: vision score per minute.

11. Juan “JayJ” Guibert (FlyQuest)
12. Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black (100 Thieves)
