1 G2 Perkz
Questions were asked of the capabilities of Luka “Perkz” Perković and his transition to the AD Carry role in the pre-season, but he has certainly answered those questions now. There is no doubt that G2 Esports’ bottom lane duo is amongst the best in the world on current form and have continued to win their 2v2 game after game after game in the Summer Split.
This has led to both Perkz and Mikyx wondering why they’re not picking up Player of the Game awards more often, with fans favouring Jankos and Caps throughout the regular season. Things have gotten so desperate, that the Croatian marksman has pleaded for both himself and his support to be placed together in the post-game poll in order for viewers to vote for him more often.
Ultimately, the Player of the Game awards are meaningless, and it’s up to the LEC analysts to decide if this G2 bottom lane have played well enough to dismount Jankos’ in his charge towards the Summer Split MVP. But it would come as a shock if any of these players care more about individual awards than reclaiming their LEC trophy and challenging for the 2019 World Championship.
While many claimed that Perkz would be forced to play mages in the bottom lane before the season started, that couldn’t have been further from the truth, and in fact G2’s bot laner’s most played champions are Xayah (11) and Kai’Sa (6) throughout 2019.
He may often take a back seat while Wunder, Jankos, and Caps carry the game, but nobody can deny that Perkz and Mikyx dominate their lanes and make the game so much easier for their teammates. On average, Perkz builds a +1182 gold lead at fifteen minutes, the highest of ANY player in the LEC, including both Jankos and Caps. It’s for this reason that Perkz definitely deserves his first place spot in the player power rankings and is set to challenge the best ADCs in the world this autumn.
