League of Legends Patch 9.15 breakdown – Summoner’s Rift edition
Rumble
"W – Scrap Shield Base Shield: 100/130/160/190/220 -> 80/110/140/170/200. Base Empowered Shield: 150/195/240/285/330 -> 120/165/210/255/300."
All of a sudden, Rumble jumped up to a 53.61% win rate in solo queue, while also showing his face in pro play on Patch 9.14. As a result, it makes sense to target his survivability in lane and ensure he doesn’t make it to later teamfights as smoothly. This nerf makes it harder for Rumble to leave the laning phase unscathed but shouldn’t remove him from the current crop of top laners just yet.
Soraka
"Q – Starcall Base Damage: 60/95/130/165/200 -> 75/110/145/180/215."
As if having Yuumi in the current meta isn’t bad enough, here comes the original heal-bot to annoy us to no end. Luckily, this is a small buff that will be inconsequential, and merely serve as a small boost to Soraka’s decent solo queue win rate (50.64%). Extra damage in lane allows Soraka to trade and gain a little bit of priority in the current engage-focused support meta.
Swain
"Q – Death’s Hand Bolt Range: 625 -> 725."
This is a revert from a Patch 9.14 change that came out of the blue. Swain was never OP and now he’ll continue to be not OP without this meaningless nerf.
Syndra
"R – Unleashed Power Base Damage per Sphere: 90/135/180 -> 90/140/190."
With Worlds on the horizon, the trifecta of boring mid lane champs are on the rise. Azir, Corki, Syndra. Everything you need for ResidentSleeper to be spammed in chat. Syndra’s current win rate is 48.80%, and with a +5 damage buff on her R, this change is barely noticeable. Don’t worry just yet guys.
Vayne
"E – Condemn Wall Hit Damage: 100% of Condemn’s damage -> 150 of Condemn’s damage."
Landing E with Vayne is now rewarded with extra damage, albeit a small amount. This is a very situational buff and might be important maybe once per game? Don’t expect this to have much of an effect on a marksman that already sits at a 50.43% win rate.
Xerath
"R – Rite of the Arcane Range: 3200/4400/5600 -> 5000."
Xerath’s ability to roam half-way down the river and pump out damage into the bottom lane just got stronger, as now he just has to walk one quarter of the way before he can ult an enemy carry down to half health. In certain match-ups, this buff could be huge, as Xerath has the ability to threaten the bottom lane every time he gets mid priority and can push into tower.
For a champion resting at a 49.93% win rate, this is quite a large buff, and could see him rise up into the top tiers of mid lane champions on Patch 9.15, purely due to the threat of his ultimate on roams
