League of Legends: LEC Predictions week 7 day 2
Five games to go. Five more opportunities for the best teams in European League of Legends to prove themselves worthy of a place in the 2019 LEC Summer Split playoffs. How will they fare in Week 7 Day 2’s fixtures?
Misfits Gaming (4-9) v SK Gaming (3-10)
If you’re a fan of good, clean League of Legends, then maybe dodge the first game of the LEC today. Misfits offered very little against a rejuvenated Origen side on Day 1, while SK Gaming, well, the less said about them the better.
When two rosters in the bottom half of the LEC face off nowadays, it’s literally better to flip a coin than to make a judgement as to who will be victorious. Every team looks determined to avoid a place in the playoffs, and that should be no different today.
The potential to single-handedly carry games coming from both Thomas “Kirei” Yuen and Adam “LIDER” Ilyasov offers much more than what SK Gaming could provide in this bottom of the table clash. It would come as no surprise if LIDER remedied his mistakes from Friday and popped off once again on an assassin-like champion.
Prediction – Misfits Gaming Win
Team Vitality (6-7) v Excel Esports (4-9)
Excel Esports’ miraculous playoffs run continued yesterday with a shocking upset over 3rd place Splyce. Meanwhile, Team Vitality produced a surprising result of their own as they took down G2 Esports for only their second loss of the Summer Split. But, if Vitality beat the best team in the LEC, surely that means they’re now the best team in the LEC? Not exactly…
The current unofficial World Champion belt holders are on the brink of an unexpected comeback as their six weeks at the foot of the table seem to finally be over. Excel have the potential to reach the top six in the final two weeks of the season if they continue on this current form, but they’ve got an extremely difficult schedule up ahead.
It’s all about momentum, Excel have it all, Vitality have very little and may just be happy with their win over G2 Esports. There’s no doubt that this is a huge game for both teams, but ultimately the in-form team is most likely to take the prize and close in on the playoff places with just five games left.
Prediction – Excel Esports Win
