League of Legends LCS semifinal preview Cloud9 vs. CLG – perfectly balanced

Jungle
Raymond “Wiggily” Griffin vs. Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen
Perhaps the bounceback player of the split, no player made a bigger leap from spring to summer than Wiggily. At the end of the spring split, he was (in my mind) the worst jungler in the LCS (behind luminaries like Rush, Anda, and Akaadian). Now, he’s easily top three.
What is so incredible when it comes to Wiggily is how much he does with so few resources. His damage and gold numbers are mediocre, but he controls vision massively. He also has the third-highest aKP, indicating that he’s doing a lot of his job to help the team despite not getting all the farm and resources other junglers get.
Unfortunately for Wiggily, his feel-good story ends there, as he’ll be facing Svenskeren, who was the best jungler in the LCS and was a deserving candidate for MVP. Like Wiggily, Svenskeren doesn’t have any eye-popping stats and in fact, doesn’t lead the role in any stats. But he is a player who just has no weaknesses in terms of his game or champion pool.
Ultimately, that is an area that I think C9 can exploit. Wiggily played 6 out of 11 games this split on one champion, Jarvan, and only won games on three other champions: Skarner, Sejuani, and Sylas. On the other hand, Svenskeren has shown a giant champion pool, not playing any jungler more than three times. This gives C9 a massive advantage should they want to pick away or ban out Wiggily’s comfort pick.
Advantage: Cloud9
