League of Legends: Team Liquid vs Clutch Gaming LCS semi-final preview

Team Liquid is the stronger team without a doubt, to the point that betting against them would be a joke. However, I don’t think they sweep Clutch Gaming. Clutch has the job of surprising Liquid from the get-go. Game 1 is CRUCIAL for Clutch. They need to take the first game to keep their hopes alive. Get Cody super fed and deny the enemy bot-lane everything.
While bot-lane might be the most impactful role to this series as a whole, Huni and Impact is my matchup to keep an eye on. If Impact can run away with the lane phase, he will run away with the game. I expect Rumble banned every game on Team Liquid’s side, which puts CG in a position where they need to draft cleverly and keep their eyes open at all times to power-picks and pocket-picks alike. Gangplank priority could be high here, with both Impact and Huni being very strong GP players.
Clutch has been showing really good team play recently, and they are going to need to team-fight very well in this series. It’s time for Clutch to lace up their boots and try to kick some ass. However, what I expect is a 3-1 win for Team Liquid. I think Liquid will get caught out once underestimating CG, but one time only.
It will be a great series to watch, we haven’t seen TL in two weeks and we saw Clutch run riot on TSM, making this series as close as it ever should have been. Time for some good ol’ fashioned NA fiesta play, as CG and TL are set to take us to the rodeo, so grab your baby-back ribs and let’s get cheering.
