Darius (S to A+ tier)
On the other hand, however, Darius should be thriving into tanks. However, his win rate has dropped by about 0.75% in the last patch. I think he’s still likely in a good spot and can rebound next patch, but it’s something to keep an eye on.
Kled (A+ to A tier)
Kled, on the other hand, is not having a good time in the tank meta. It’s not so much that he struggles into tanks (though he does struggle against the likes of Shen and Sion) but the anti-tanks like Fiora, Singed, and Kennen all give him fits. He still has the second-best win rate among top laners, but he definitely misses the world of immobile juggernauts.
Urgot (A to B+ tier)
After a brief dip in his win rate last patch, Urgot is back around the 50% mark in 9.16. While he does well into the anti-tanks like Gnar, he is struggling against the popular tanks like Malphite, Sion, and Shen.
Riven (S to B+ tier)
Vladimir (A to B tier)
Vlad is struggling into the tanks in the top lane, even if his win rate has not reflected it. Plus, all the anti-healing that has come into the lane (Kled still says hi) is making him struggle a bit.
Camille (A+ to B tier)
Both the tanks (Sion, Malphite, and Shen) and the anti-tanks (Singed, Kennen) are all giving Camille a hard time right now. Like Kled, she is missing the era of more fighters in the lane.
Akali (B to C tier)
After the latest attempt to re-balance Akali, she briefly re-emerged into the B tier. She’s fallen to the C tier now, but she’s still hovering around that border area. Her win rate is, overall, up by 1.4% since the “rework” in Patch 9.14.
Irelia (B to C tier)
Her win rate has been steady for a few patches now, but Irelia is also not pleased to see the likes of Singed, Shen, and Malphite taking over the top lane.
Nasus (B to C tier)
Nasus’s win rate dropped off a cliff in Patch 9.16, from a respectable 49.8% now down to 47.6%, over a 2.2% drop. He got no direct nerfs, but I suspect that the nerfs to Biscuit Delivery hurt him particularly hard.
Swain (C to D tier)
His win rate rose slightly (now sitting at 51%) but he dropped in the tier list. I suspect Biscuit Delivery might be a culprit here as well, but it could also just be sites stabilizing his ranking after that mini-rework in 9.14.
Ornn (C to D tier)
Shockingly, Ornn is one of the tanks that has not improved in the top lane this patch. Even though his win rate has improved, he’s been taken down to his lowest ranking since getting buffed in Patch 9.8. I’ll keep an eye to see if he rebounds.
Vayne (C to D tier)
Another champion that hates seeing tanks top lane, Vayne’s win rate dropped slightly in 9.16. It seems that her brief moment in the C tier for two patches is coming to an end.
Sylas (C to D tier)
The nerfs really shouldn’t have affected his status in the top lane. Nevertheless, he saw his win rate drop by just under 1%, despite the fact he does fine into tanks and anti-tanks alike!
Neeko (C to D tier)
Neeko, my cousin! Although her top lane win rate is stable, she is struggling into (guess who) all those top lane tanks and anti-tanks.
Tahm Kench (C to F tier)
Ryze (D to F tier)
It’s odd that Ryze dropped in our tier list while his win rate jumped from 47.8% to 49.1% in one patch. This also came despite receiving a couple rounds of buffs since Patch 9.12, so I’m curious if it’s just because she struggles a bit into tanks.
