Top Lane

Omran “V1per” Shoura vs Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon

Two top laners with heavy potential to carry, but burdened with some heavy limitations, specifically in the champion pool. Famously, Huni drew multiple bans during the playoffs targetting his most-successful champions like Rumble and Gangplank. On the flip side, V1per has shown a huge capacity to pop off on Riven and Aatrox, but struggled on other meta champions.

Both players should draw bans away from their other laners, which is good, but the question is which one would have the overall advantage. It’s a close call, but I’ll be giving the advantage to Huni for one major reason: laning prowess.

During the summer split, Huni was one of the best laning top laners in the LCS (behind only Impact and Solo). He averaged a 125 gold, 127 XP, and 3.1 CS advantage at the 10-minute mark.

Compare that to V1per, who averaged a 4 gold, 18 XP, and 0.8 CS deficit at that 10-minute mark. V1per’s poor laning (especially on those champs that aren’t among his comfort picks) has been a huge factor holding him back from becoming one of the premier top laners in the LCS. In this match-up, though, I expect Huni to take advantage of the inexperienced V1per.

Advantage: Clutch
