Prediction

This was a close, 3-2 series when these teams last played but I don’t think it will be nearly as close this time. Part of the reason is that CLG, in my opinion, kind of got bamboozled during the first two games of the runner up series and fell into a hole. They adapted and came back, sure, but they made some very poor mistakes in macro and draft I’m sure they won’t make again here.

The second reason is that Clutch’s performance today was very shaky. They took over 50 minutes to close out Game 1, lost Game 2, and never really took the heavy early game advantages over FlyQuest that I would have expected.

At times, they got out-macroed by FlyQuest during the late game, which is unacceptable when you’re facing the worst mid-to-late game team from the Summer Split. If Clutch makes those same silly mistakes against CLG, they will find themselves getting blown out of this series.

The blueprint for CLG to win this series is quite obvious: target out Damonte and Huni’s comfort picks, stabilize bot lane, and use your superior jungle and support players to win through macro. If CLG doesn’t fall behind massively, I think they win every time. Although the last match-up was a five game series, I’m predicting a 3-1 series victory for CLG.
