3. Get Broken Blade some support
Sergen “Broken Blade” Çelik had a monster Spring Split before falling off into one of the more disappointing Summer Splits. He averaged 2.5 deaths per game and often fell behind in lane (averaging gold, CS, and experience deficits at 10 minutes). These problems only continued in the playoffs and Gauntlet, where he struggled to pick up meta champions like Aatrox and couldn’t match up against superior top laners like Huni.
Now, he is very young and has a lot of promise. He’s believed to have a three-year contract with TSM, so it’s unlikely that they will simply cut him.
However, I would advocate that TSM attempt to bring in another top laner to compete with him (and potentially sub in) for the top lane. The main reason for this is that Broken Blade takes up an import slot, which greatly hinders TSM’s ability to upgrade at the long-time worst position of the jungle.
In the top lane, however, there is a lot more home-grown NA talent like Solo and Kumo – or even Academy players like Allorim, Darshan, or Lourlo – that could swap in for BB if TSM can acquire a strong, international jungler (more on that in a bit).
Now, the more likely scenario is that Zven leaves and TSM use his import slot on the jungle. Even in that scenario, I think it could benefit BB to have a veteran presence behind him (Darshan would be fantastic in this aspect) to help challenge him and cultivate his talent.
