Ability Description

"Passive (Pyromania) – After casting four spells, Annie’s next offensive spell will stun the target for a short duration."

Annie’s passive is on-demand crowd control. After she casts four spells, the next spell that damages an enemy will also apply a stun. The passive has no cooldown (meaning the after you apply the stun your next spell cast will start counting towards stacking Pyromania again) and is tracked by a bar above Annie’s head (four white spells and then one purple spell when the stun is ready).

"Q (Disintegrate) – Annie hurls a fireball at the target enemy, dealing magic damage. If Disintegrate kills its target, it refunds its mana cost and half of its cooldown is immediately refreshed."

This ability is one of the biggest reasons why Annie is considered to be the perfect introductory champion for new players. With your Q, you can learn how to last-hit minions with greater ease since it will do more damage than your auto attacks and you’ll have it up much more often if you use it to last hit. Luckily, the range on her Q is also quite big, so you can walk up to the creep wave to secure those last hits without fear of being engaged on by the enemy.

Annie’s Q is also a single-target, targeted ability that does a decent amount of damage, thereby giving you a point-and-click stun should you have your passive stacked up. If you’re going to try and trade on your opponent, your best bet is to lead with the stun on one of your long-range Qs.

"W (Incinerate) – Annie releases a cone of fire in the target direction, dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area."

This ability does damage and can be used to proc your passive’s stun on multiple targets. However, the W is also very short-ranged, meaning you’d have to walk into melee range to get the stun over that area of effect. A better use of your W is as a secondary damage source, dumping extra damage on your target after you’ve already stunned them.

"E (Molten Shield) – Annie wraps herself and Tibbers in a fiery aura, reducing damage taken for the next 3 seconds. Enemies who deal basic attack damage on Annie or Tibbers during this time are dealt magic damage."

Annie’s E is unique to her kit in the fact that it’s the only one of her abilities that does not proc the passive (since it does no damage). It’s a basic shield for herself and Mr. Tibbers (who we’ll get to in a moment) and although it’s not an incredibly strong shield, it’s useful to have some level of damage mitigation when you’re taking trades. And, although it can’t proc the passive, using this ability will give you another stack towards getting the passive up.

"R (Summon: Tibbers)   FIRST CAST: Annie summons Tibbers to the target location in a burst of flame, dealing magic damage to surrounding enemies. He then remains on the field as a controllable pet for up to 45 seconds. TIBBERS ACTIVE: Annie directs Tibbers to the target location.."

On the first cast of R, you drop Annie’s little, cuddly teddy bear onto the Rift as a giant, demonic, firey bear that tears everyone to shreds! To shreds I say!

Once Tibbers drops, he’ll attack anyone nearby and anyone that Annie stuns with her passive. If Annie is killed after Tibbers drops, he’ll go into a rage and attack them, or the closest low-health enemy. You can also direct Tibbers to go to an area or attack a player by targeting them and hitting R again, or ALT + right clicking on them.
