League of Legends Patch 9.18 mid lane tier list aggregation – Fizz splashes into S tier

Buffed champions
Annie
The buffs to Annie‘s E – Molten Shield have been underwhelming so far. Yeah, she rose in our tier list, but she saw her win rate in 9.18 decrease from 51.4% to 50.4%. This is after her pick rate rose in this patch following the buffs, indicating that these buffs drew in newer players but didn’t really help her existing player base.
Aurelion Sol
His second-straight patch getting buffs, this time it was a straight-forward pure HP buff. He rose in our tier list, as did his win rate (from 48.8% to 53.2% over the last patch), but I don’t think the 65 HP buff is the reason. I think there was probably just a big learning curve after those massive changes in 9.17 and players are starting to understand how his “new” kit works.
Ekko
Getting the buff to his W – Parallel Convergence‘s stun duration (and it’s cost) proved to be huge for Ekko. He’s now in the A+ tier as a mid laner for the first time ever and his win rate spiked from 49.6% all the way to 51.8% in one patch. And that’s while his pick rate also increased by over 1% (now at 5.3%).
Zoe
Who missed getting put to sleep and one-shot? Well if you did, don’t worry because the buffs to Zoe’s Passive – More Sparkles! appear to have made her uber strong once again.
Her mid lane win rate is sitting at 50.9%, but that’s stable from where it has been for the last five patches or so. Unfortunately, that came while her pick rate went from 4.4% to 5.8%. As a result, Zoe has Portal Jumped back into the A tier for the first time since Patch 9.2.
Nerfed champions
Aatrox
The nerfs to Aatrox’s Passive – Deathbringer’s Deaths and Q – The Darkin Blade didn’t just kill him. They buried Aatrox under twenty feet of concrete.
In Patch 9.18, Aatrox mid went from a high-C tier pick all the way to the F tier. And her win rate fell by almost 5.5%, which is absolutely ridiculous. Obviously, this isn’t his meta lane, but I’m afraid/excited that Aatrox may have been killed in top lane too.
Akali
Nerfs to Akali’s R – Perfect Execution damage and removing the stun from the first charge were arguably as heavy to her as Aatrox’s nerfs were. Her win rate dropped from 48% down to 43.2% as her pick rate has also fallen. While she didn’t fall quite as far as Aatrox did (from low-B tier to high-C tier) I wouldn’t be shocked if she drops further in a future patch without compensatory buffs.
