Path to the League of Legends World Championship
Mega finished as the number one team from the LST in the spring regular season and playoffs, representing the region at the MSI tournament. Their performance at MSI was underwhelming, as they finished the play-in group stage 2-4.
Luckily, Mega shrugged off their poor performance at MSI and finished 6-1 during the LST Summer Split, good for second in the league. During a crazy playoffs that saw the number one team – WIN Esports – lose to the sixth-seeded Axis Empire in the semifinals, Mega was ultimately able to emerge victorious after sweeping Axis to end the Cinderella story.
Player to watch
ADC DeuL who finished the playoffs with, and I swear I’m not making this up, a KDA of 54. During the playoffs DeuL never died once and earned almost 500 gold per minute. I doubt he can replicate this performance at Worlds, but given that he was also a strong anchor of their team in the regular split, he’ll be the guy they need to carry the load.
Best case scenario
They regain the honor they lost at MSI, making it out of their play-in group as a second seed.
Worst case scenario
They somehow perform worse than they did at MSI.
Prediction
They perform exactly as they did at MSI, going 1-3 in the group stage of play-ins and miss making the knockout round. Hopefully, they can avoid playing against DetonatioN FocusMe this time.
